ISLAMABAD: Attaullah Tarar, the Pakistani Prime Minister’s Special Assistant, stated on Thursday that the govt was constantly open to having a fruitful conversation with the opposition’s leadership in order to settle all disputes and restore political stability in the country.

Speaking to a private news outlet, he stated that the coalition govt, led by Shehbaz Sharif, was ready to begin talks with the PTI. In response to a question, he stated that Imran Khan’s term as prime minister ended “constitutionally and democratically,” and he suggested that the PTI chairman step forward for an unconditional serious dialogue.

Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has called for early elections, but Tarar argued that this is “unjustified” and that PDM supported “democratic norms” in politics.

In response to a question about the murder of Senior Journalist Arshad Sharif, he reassured the country that an investigation into the case would be fair and transparent and that the public would be informed of the facts. He added that the government was prepared to assist JIT in its investigation into the killing of Arshad Sharif. — APP
