ISLAMABAD:  Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif launched the countrywide monsoon tree plantation drive by planting a sapling.

He emphasized the need to plant at least 100 million saplings across Pakistan, including Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, to combat the severe impacts of climate change experienced in 2022. The initiative also aims to reduce air pollution.

The prime minister urged federal and provincial authorities to ensure the plantation drive reaches every corner of the country, promoting a green and pollution-free Pakistan. He called on citizens to actively participate in the drive, highlighting the importance of collective effort in preventing climate change disasters and fostering a healthy environment.
