Pakistan Navy Ship Visits Bahrain on Regional Maritime Security Patrol

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) YARMOOK on Wednesday visited Port Mina Salman in Bahrain as part of its deployment on the Regional Maritime Security Patrol (RMSP). During its stay, the ship engaged in bilateral exercises with friendly navies.

Upon arrival, PNS YARMOOK was welcomed by senior officials from the Bahrain Navy and the Pakistan Embassy.

The Commanding Officer of PNS YARMOOK met with the Commander of the Royal Bahrain Naval Force, Rear Admiral Ahmed Mohammad Ibrahim Al Bin Ali, and the Commander of the Royal Bahrain Coast Guards, Brigadier Saqib Qamar, along with other high-ranking Bahrain Navy officials.

The ship’s Commanding Officer also visited the headquarters of the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) and met with the Deputy Commander CMF, Commodore Mark Anderson. Discussions during these meetings focused on professional matters of mutual interest and reaffirmed the commitment to enhancing bilateral relations.

During the visit to Port Mina Salman, PNS YARMOOK hosted several guests, including the Ambassador of Pakistan to Bahrain, the Commander of Maritime Coalition Forces, Bahrain Navy officials, prominent businessmen, members of the Pakistani community, diplomats, and defence attachés from allied countries. The visit included various activities such as onboard exchanges and tours of military installations.

Following the port visit, PNS YARMOOK conducted bilateral exercises with the Royal Bahrain Navy Ship AL-MANAMA, the US Ship DANIEL INOUYE, and the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Ship JS SAMIDARE. These exercises aimed to enhance cooperation, develop synergy, and improve interoperability among the participating navies for joint operations in the region.

The Pakistan Navy maintains a permanent presence in the Indian Ocean to oversee national and international Sea Lines of Communication (SLOCs). It is committed to collaborative efforts to uphold a rule-based order at sea, working with regional and international partners to combat piracy and address anti-narcotics operations, thereby safeguarding global interests.
