GAZA: Israeli forces on Wednesday issued new evacuation orders to Palestinians in areas of northern Gaza that were among the first to be hit at the start of the ongoing Israeli bombardment campaign in Gaza since October 7 last year.

In northern Gaza, intense Israeli bombardment and ground assaults have already caused widespread devastation since the conflict began last year. The evacuation orders target Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahiya, two towns heavily affected by the initial stages of the Israeli military campaign.

Israeli Army spokesperson Avichay Adraee announced the evacuation orders via social media. These towns, now largely reduced to rubble, were among the first to experience the full brunt of Israel’s military operations.

In Gaza City’s Al-Tuffah neighborhood, an Israeli airstrike on a residential building resulted in the deaths of three Palestinians, according to local medics. The ongoing conflict has intensified with Israeli forces targeting various locations across the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli military has struck a residential building in the densely populated Deir al-Balah district. This area has become a refuge for tens of thousands of displaced Palestinians fleeing the relentless Israeli bombardment.

Further shelling occurred in the central Gaza refugee camps of Nuseirat and Bureij. The Israeli military has accused Hamas fighters of using civilian infrastructure for military purposes. Hamas has strongly rejected the Israeli claim.

On Tuesday, the Palestinian group Islamic Jihad reported firing rockets into Israel as retaliation for “massacres of civilians” by Israeli forces.

Since October 7, Israel has launched a relentless bombardment campaign in Gaza killing at least 39,600 Palestinians, mostly women and children, the territory’s health ministry reported.
