PARIS:  Indian player Neeraj Chopra has admitted that Arshad Nadeem produced an excellent throw at the Paris Olympics 2024. He said that Arshad Nadeem did well during the contest, adding in sports, sometimes it’s your day, sometimes it’s someone else’s.

Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem claimed the yellow metal with a record-breaking effort during the contest. Arshad Nadeem managed an astonishing 92.97m in his second try to set the bar too high for the rest of the field, including Neeraj Chopra, who looked under pressure and managed just one valid throw — the silver-winning 89.45m in the second round of the contest.

Arshad Nadeem set a new Olympic record on Thursday and eventually ended Pakistan’s 32-year wait for success at the Games by clinching the coveted gold medal in the men’s javelin final round in Paris. He was slow off the blocks, registering a no-throw on his first try of the night but shocked everyone on his second attempt, with a monstrous 92.97-throw, which the rest of the field could not even come close for the rest of the contest.

Earlier, Arshad Nadeem won a silver medal at the World Championship last year. In the Commonwealth Games 2022, Nadeem won the gold medal.
