UAE Praises Arshad Nadeem’s Historic Olympic Victory

ISLAMABAD: United Arab Emirates (UAE) Consul General Bakheet Ateeq Al-Romaithi in Karachi lauded athlete Arshad Nadeem’s victory as Pakistan’s first Olympic gold medalist in 40 years in the men’s javelin competition.

He described it as a significant achievement for the entire Muslim community and a source of pride not only for Pakistan but also for the UAE.

In an interview with a private news channel on Monday, Al-Romaithi highlighted the strong solidarity and shared celebrations between the UAE and Pakistan. He said that the two nations have a long-standing history of cooperation, with the UAE being one of Pakistan’s major trading partners and a key source of foreign investment.

Al-Romaithi emphasized the deep cultural and personal connections between the two countries, extending beyond mere diplomatic relations. He acknowledged Pakistan’s crucial role in the UAE’s development, noting that Pakistani professionals and workers have significantly contributed to the country’s growth from its early days to the present.

He pointed out that the trade volume between Pakistan and the UAE has exceeded $8 billion, underscoring the strong economic ties and growing bilateral trade. This milestone reflects the robust economic relationship and strategic partnerships, with both nations continually exploring new opportunities for collaboration.

In response to another question, Al-Romaithi affirmed the UAE’s ongoing commitment to supporting Pakistan, highlighting the country’s readiness to welcome Pakistani citizens and foster mutual support.
