MELBOURNE, Australia: A passenger on Jetstar Flight JQ507 was arrested at Melbourne Airport after he exited the plane through an emergency door, walked along the wing, and climbed down a jet engine to the tarmac. The incident occurred after the flight had landed from Sydney and was stationary at the gate.

Witnesses described the man’s behavior as “erratic” before he opened the emergency exit, triggering the automatic deployment of the slide. Instead of using the slide, he walked across the wing and descended via one of the Airbus A320’s engines.

Passengers on board were startled, with some screaming as they witnessed the man’s actions. The Australian Federal Police were alerted by Jetstar staff and promptly arrested the man. He was taken to a hospital for further assessment, and police are continuing their investigation, with charges expected to follow. Melbourne Airport commended the quick response of both aircrew and ground staff, ensuring the safety of all passengers and staff involved.
