ICCI Celebrates Defense Day Pays Tribute to Armed Forces

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Privatization Minister Abdul Aleem Khan Highlights National Unity and Armed Forces’ Bravery on Defence Day.

Pakistan’s Privatization Minister Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized Pakistan’s unity with its armed forces to counter threats against the nation’s prosperity and integrity.

Addressing a ceremony here at S.M. Muneer Auditorium, ICCI on Friday in connection with the Defence Day, Aleem Khan described September 6 as a day symbolizing the immense courage, bravery, and professionalism of the country’s armed forces.

Aleem Khan urged the nation to renew its commitment to loyalty and service, honoring those who sacrificed their lives for the country’s security. He highlighted the importance of unity and determination as Pakistan faces security challenges including extremism, terrorism, and external aggression. The Minister affirmed that Pakistan is stronger than ever and will continue to grow resilient against adversaries.

Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, President of ICCI, praised September 6 as a pivotal moment in national history when the armed forces made significant sacrifices to defend the homeland. He stressed that economic strength is crucial for national defense and called on the business community to support the armed forces while educating the youth about their sacrifices.

Bakhtawari also acknowledged the presence of Azerbaijan’s Ambassador, Khazar Farhadov, emphasizing the strong friendship between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. Farhadov highlighted the shared respect for armed forces and the close ties between Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Turkiye.

Zafar Bakhtawari, Secretary General of the United Business Group, reflected on the bravery of Pakistan’s soldiers during the 1965 war, expressing hope for the country to overcome current economic challenges and achieve progress. He praised Minister Abdul Aleem Khan for his dedication to the armed forces and his contributions to politics and social work.

The event also included the presentation of shields to business leaders Chaudhry Abdul Rauf and Mohammad Ishaq Sial in recognition of their community services.
