Malaysian Culture Shines at Exclusive Coffee Morning in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD:  A culture gathering was organized in Islamabad to further strengthen friendships and enhance socio-cultural understanding among the diplomatic ladies’ circle, Pakistani and Malaysian women living in Pakistan.

Under the leadership of To’ Puan Amelia Amani Abdullah, Chairperson of PERWAKILAN, the Islamabad chapter successfully hosted an exclusive coffee morning celebrating Malaysian culture.   The event began with welcome remarks by Malaysian Ambassador to Pakistan Mohammad Azhar Mazlan and included the presentation of appreciation certificates to cultural performers from Kencana Pawana, University Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Al-Sultan Abdullah, Malaysia; Chef Pathma of Islamabad Serena Hotel; and Madam Sofia.

The morning was truly memorable, as cited by Ambassador Dato’ in his remarks: “To know Malaysia is to love Malaysia!” Congratulations to all PERWAKILAN members for their dedication and success in organizing this event.”

The event aimed to strengthen friendships and enhance socio-cultural understanding among the diplomatic ladies’ circle, as well as Pakistani and Malaysian women living in Pakistan. It also marked the conclusion of the High Commission’s Malaysia 67th National Day Celebration and Malaysia Food Festival Week.

On the occasion, guests enjoyed a delightful brunch featuring Malaysian-style fried noodles, spring rolls, kuih bakar (a traditional dessert), various pastries, and seasonal fruits. During the meal, a multimedia presentation showcasing PERWAKILAN’s activities and Malaysian culture was displayed on the big screen.

The cultural event also included traditional dance performances by Kencana Pawana,. Guests were also impressed by the traditional Malaysian costumes showcased by PERWAKILAN members and their families during a fashion show. The event concluded with an invitation for all guests to participate in a lively ‘joget’ dance, one of Malaysia’s famous traditional dances, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
