Stallions Thrash Lions to Register Victory at Champions One-Day Cup

FAISALABAD: The Lions faced a defeat at the hands of Stallions who bowled them out for 202 in the second clash of the Champions One-Day Cup at the Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad on Friday.  The Stallions registered a 133-run victory in the one-sided match while destroying the entire batting line-up of Shaheen’s team.

Batting first, Stallions made 336 runs following a blistering knock by Babar Azam, Mohammad Haris, Talat and Tayyab Tahir.   Yasir Khan and Shan Masood built an opening stand of 35 runs when the latter was dismissed for just 13 with Babar coming to bat next.

Masood was eliminated by Faisal Akram when Tayyab Tahir joined Babar Azam on the crease and they displayed fireworks to boost the total runs.

Hussain Talat and Mohammad Haris made fifties while Jahandad also made unbeaten 20, helping their side to build a target of 337 runs for Lions.

In reply, Lions lost early wicket of opener Sajjad Ali Hashim. Abdullah Shafique and Omair bin Yousaf failed to show impressive performance. Sharoon Siraj made just 28 runs while Aamer Yamin scored 22 runs.

Skipper Shaheen Afridi and Sirajudding were removed by Haris Rauf, sealing a convincing win for Stallions.
