CARDIFF: Liam Livingstone has delivered a stunning performance, scoring 87 from just 47 balls, as England claimed a three-wicket win over Australia at Cardiff’s Sophia Gardens on Friday.

The victory levelled the three-match T20 series at 1-1, setting up a decisive final clash in Manchester on Sunday. England side chased down Australia’s total of 193 for six, ending on 194 for 7, with Livingstone’s impressive innings being the foundation of their success.

Livingstone’s fifty, his second in T20I, came during his 50th game for England. His fiery knock thrilled the crowd and was crucial in overcoming the target set by Australia. Skipper Phil Salt got England off to a good start, hitting around three consecutive sixes in the 3rd over. However, Abbott’s quick wickets soon put England team under pressure, as Jacks was caught for 12, and Cox was bowled for a duck on his second ball. Livingstone smashed 6 fours and 5 sixes before being bowled by Matt Short, who took five wickets in total, with just one run left to win. Adil Rashid secured the win with a quick single, giving his side joint-highest successful T20 run chase at Sophia Gardens.
