ISLAMABAD: Indulge in the rich, aromatic, and spicy flavor of Black Pepper Chicken Curry, a comforting dish that combines the heat of spices with tender chicken, creating a bowl of warmth that’s hard to resist.
Ingredients:
500 grams boneless chicken
2 tbsp black pepper
1 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
3 tbsp mustard oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
3-4 cardamom pods
3-4 cloves
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp minced ginger
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 cup tomato puree
1 cup water
Fresh coriander leaves
Instructions:
In a bowl, mix the chicken pieces with freshly ground black pepper, turmeric powder, and salt.
Allow the chicken to marinate for 20 minutes.
Heat the mustard oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add cumin seeds, cardamom pods, and cloves. Sauté them briefly until they release their fragrance.
Stir in the finely chopped onions and cook until they turn golden brown.
Add the minced ginger and garlic, and continue cooking until their raw smell disappears.
Add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook until it is brown.
Stir in the tomato puree, ensuring the chicken is well-coated.
Cook the mixture for a few minutes until the oil begins to separate from the sauce.
Pour in the water or chicken broth to reach your preferred curry consistency.
Let the curry simmer on low heat, stirring occasionally.
Taste and adjust the salt and black pepper as needed.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve.
