BAGHDAD: A member of Iraq’s Hezbollah Brigades was killed on Friday in a strike targeting the faction in Syria.
The group identified the slain as Abu Haidar al-Khafaji, who was serving as a security adviser to the government in Damascus.
According to a Brigades member, Khafaji was killed in a dawn strike on one of the group’s premises, which also left a second worker injured.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed the death of the Brigades member but could not independently verify the details of the strike.
