OIC Sec-Gen Congratulates Saudi Leadership on Kingdom’s 94th National Day

JEDDAH: The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, has congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the people of Saudi Arabia on Kingdom’s 94th National Day (23 September 2024).

In a statement issued on Saturday he recalled the huge support the Saudi leadership has continued to provide to the Jeddah-based OIC through noble patronage and support for its activities.

The Secretary-General praised the Kingdom’s huge efforts in the service of Islam and Muslims across the world as well as its tireless efforts to champion and defend the causes of Muslims on the international scene.

He highlighted Saudi Arabia’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause through numerous appreciated initiatives, the most recent being the extraordinary meeting in Jeddah of the OIC Executive Committee at the level of foreign ministers to discuss the ongoing crimes by Israel, the extraordinary session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Jeddah to discuss the continued Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, and the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit held in Riyadh to discuss the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.

He noted these resulted in qualitative action by the Saudi-led ministerial committee formed by the summit to mobilize international support for the Palestinian cause and birth international action to stop the war against the Gaza Strip.

Taha lauded the huge services and facilities continuously provided by the Kingdom to millions of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims and visitors to the holy sites.

The Secretary-General added that Saudi Arabia is witnessing visible progress in its national projects and development plans, praising the ambitious economic and developmental 2030 Vision supervised by the Crown Prince.

The Secretary-General also conveyed his best wishes for continuous prosperity for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the pioneer of Islamic solidarity, as well as charitable and humanitarian action.
