PENNSYLVANIA, USA: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived in the United States to present his “victory plan” aimed at ending the war with Russia, which has now lasted more than two and a half years.

Zelensky is scheduled to meet with US President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former President Donald Trump, all key figures in shaping US policy towards Ukraine.

The visit comes at a critical time, as Ukrainian forces hold strategic positions while Russian troops continue advancing in eastern Ukraine. Zelensky’s main goal is to secure Western approval, particularly from the US, to use long-range weapons for strikes deep within Russia. However, both the U.S. and the UK have been hesitant, fearing further escalation of the conflict.

Zelensky kicked off his US trip with a visit to a Pennsylvania factory that produces artillery shells, expressing his gratitude to workers and emphasizing the importance of global democratic alliances. He also aims to present his plan to Congress and discuss it with Biden, who will be the first foreign leader to see it in full.

Zelensky’s plan, though still under wraps, is expected to focus on strengthening Ukraine’s defence capabilities and ensuring Ukraine’s place in global security. However, Moscow remains firm in its demands for Ukraine to surrender key regions, signaling that both sides continue to hope for a military victory rather than a diplomatic resolution.
