Pakistan’s ANF Seizes 45 kg Drugs in 11 Operations

RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted 11 operations nationwide, resulting in the seizure of 45 kg of drugs valued at over Rs 5.2 million and the arrest of 10 suspects, an ANF spokesperson said on Monday.

In one operation near Tiramari Chowk, Islamabad, 55 grams of hashish and 30 grams of ice were recovered from two individuals on a motorcycle. Another operation in E-11 Islamabad led to the recovery of 10 grams of cocaine and 1.8 kg of ice from a suspect.

In Lahore, 1.5 kg of hashish was seized from a vehicle near a university, resulting in one arrest. Kohat police intercepted a motorcyclist, recovering 350 grams of hashish and 220 grams of ice. In Malakand, 4.8 kg of hashish was found near a university, with two arrests made; the suspects admitted to selling drugs to students.

Karachi operations yielded 18 kg of hashish near Myanmar Mor Super Highway, leading to one arrest. Additionally, 12 kg of hashish was recovered from Pushtakhara Chowk, Ring Road, Peshawar.

At Islamabad International Airport, a passenger was arrested with 660 grams of ice. Near Marlay Check Post in Pakpattan, authorities seized 850 grams of opium, 1.8 kg of hashish, and 50 grams of ice from a drug dealer.

In Mirpur Azad Kashmir, 16 grams of weed were discovered in a parcel destined for the UK at a courier office, while another operation in Multan resulted in the recovery of 1.2 kg of weed from a parcel sent from Thailand.

Cases have been registered against the arrested individuals under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and further investigations are ongoing.
