KARACHI: Pakistan’s immigration authorities have apprehended three Afghan women attempting to travel to Germany using forged documents via Karachi.
Officials from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) identified the women as Aziza Mohammadi, Mehria Rehmani, and Zahra Sultani. They reported that all three possessed counterfeit medical and business documents.
A case has been registered against them, and they have been transferred to the anti-human trafficking unit for further legal proceedings.
According to the authorities, Aziza arrived in Pakistan on a medical visa, claiming to have been admitted to a hospital in Islamabad from April 27 to May 20, 2024. However, investigations revealed that she had not visited Pakistan since obtaining her passport.
Similarly, Mehria, who entered the country on a business visa, provided documents stating she was on a business trip accompanied by her husband, Iqbal Hakimi. When questioned about him, she denied being married and claimed not to know anyone by that name.
Zahra’s documents indicated she arrived in Pakistan on September 2 as an attendant for a female patient, Marman Parveen. Investigations showed that she had deceitfully obtained a Pakistani visa by pretending to be the patient’s attendant.
In recent weeks, immigration authorities at Karachi airport have also arrested at least nine other foreigners attempting to travel on forged documents.
