PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur resurfaced in the provincial assembly on Sunday after being “missing” for nearly a day.

Meanwhile, the KP Assembly passed a resolution, moved by Provincial Law Minister Aftab Alam, calling for immediate measures to locate the chief minister. The resolution urged the assembly speaker to seek reports from concerned authorities and relevant institutions regarding Gandapur’s whereabouts.

“In such matters, the interior minister and KP governor should have kept the provincial government informed,” the resolution read.

As a result, the speaker has summoned the Inspector General of Police (IG), the Chief Secretary, and the Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary for a briefing on Monday.

Earlier, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi publicly denied that the chief minister was in government or any institution’s custody. He said that footage had surfaced showing Gandapur escaping KP House.

“We don’t know if Ali Amin has returned to KP or not. His footage of leaving KP House has emerged, but he is not in any government custody,” Naqvi stated.
