SRINAGAR: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has highlighted that Kashmiris have suffered under India’s illegal occupation for 77 years.
In a statement, APHC spokesman Abdul Rashid Minhas said that occupied Jammu and Kashmir has become a heavily militarized zone, with the RSS/BJP promoting their Hindutva agenda in the region.
He pointed out a concerning connection between Hindutva India and Zionist Israel, suggesting that their growing partnership is fueled by a shared hostility towards Muslims. Minhas warned that the alliance between India and Israel poses a significant threat, exacerbating racism and Islamophobia globally, as both regimes disregard international treaties and conventions.
He said that the ideological ties between Hindutva and Zionism underpin the India-Israel relationship, which is further driven by a mutual interest in destabilizing Pakistan. This cooperation is seen as an effort to further expansionist goals, contributing to settler-colonial projects in both Kashmir and Palestine, thus legitimizing the displacement of indigenous populations.
Minhas said that India is adopting oppressive tactics from Israel, including extrajudicial killings, arbitrary detentions, and enhanced surveillance to maintain its illegal control over Kashmir. He expressed disappointment over the United Nations’ inability to enforce resolutions addressing the conflicts in Kashmir and Palestine, urging the international community to take decisive action for lasting peace.
Furthermore, Mohammad Aqib, head of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Association, raised concerns about the detention of Kashmiris in Indian prisons and called on the UN and OIC to advocate for their release.
