KARACHI: Pakistan Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing the textile and leather industries by introducing modern, eco-friendly technologies.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Fifth International Exhibition in Karachi today, he highlighted that textile and leather products represent 60 percent of Pakistan’s national exports. The Minister noted that Pakistani exporters are aligning with global standards for environmental sustainability and transparency.
He emphasized that small and medium enterprises are adapting to these international standards, and the government is working to provide energy to industries at lower rates.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, addressing the gathering, stated that Pakistan is a secure environment for investment, offering numerous opportunities across various sectors.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah also spoke at the event, stating that the exhibition showcases the exceptional business acumen, creativity, and skills present in the country.
He said that Pakistan is on a path to economic development, and events like this are crucial for fostering connections with the global business community.
