WASHINIGTON, USA: As Election Day approaches, U.S. presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are working tirelessly to secure last-minute support, with each focusing on distinct voter groups and issues.
Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are pushing their closing messages to voters on the last day of campaigning before Americans decide its next president.
Both contenders are in a final sprint across key battlefield states, with Kamala Harris to campaign in Pennsylvania today while Trump heading to North Carolina, Pennsylvania as well as Michigan
According to BBC, Trump and Harris are offering contrasting messaging in their battle for the White House.
Earlier, on Sunday, Harris pledged to do everything in her power to “end the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip”, while Donald Trump made claims, without providing any evidence, of election scam in Pennsylvania, BBC reported. The polls show the race is still very close and over 75 million people have already voted.
Vice President Kamala Harris spent Sunday in Michigan, particularly engaging Arab-American voters concerned about the U.S. response to the Israel-Gaza conflict.
Addressing a crowd at Michigan State University, Harris pledged to “do everything in my power to end the war in Gaza.” While her speech emphasized the importance of voting and a positive vision for the future, Harris also urged voters to reject the divisive politics that have defined the previous administration.
Meanwhile, Trump rallied through key swing states, including Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia, adopting an aggressive tone against media and political opponents.
Trump stirred controversy by suggesting he wouldn’t mind if journalists were harmed, framing Democrats as “demonic” and alleging—without evidence—that they may attempt to “steal” the election.
Trump’s rhetoric signals his intent to question the legitimacy of any unfavorable results. Despite these statements, Trump remains popular among his base, especially in areas where he won in previous elections.
Both candidates face critical challenges. Harris has seen a dip in Black support, while Trump faces skepticism about his claims of election fraud.
With polls neck-and-neck, each candidate’s focus on energizing their respective bases may determine the final outcome.
