RIYADH: The Saudi Cabinet has reiterated its call on the warring parties in Sudan to comply with the Jeddah Declaration, urging them to cease hostilities and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.
Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session.
The Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on his meetings and discussions with leaders of several brotherly and friendly nations, which focused on ties and ways to enhance them in various fields.
Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary told the Saudi Press Agency that the Cabinet welcomed the outcome of the third meeting of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council security committee, and the initiatives carried out that contribute to advancing the strong fraternal relations toward new horizons.
The Cabinet also commended the outcome of the second ministerial meeting of the Saudi-Indian Strategic Partnership Council economic and investment committee.
The Cabinet reviewed the Kingdom’s participation in the recent G20 meetings, where it emphasised efforts to promote sustainability in education, invest in innovation and entrepreneurship, and its ongoing contributions to addressing health challenges at the global level.
It also discussed regional developments and Saudi Arabia’s relentless endeavours to promote peace and security in the region, evident in the Kingdom’s hosting of the first meeting of the Global Alliance for Implementation of the Two-State Solution, in which 90 states and regional and international organizations took part to discuss establishing an independent Palestinian state.
The Cabinet also highlighted the Kingdom’s call for a joint Arab-Islamic follow-up summit this month, which will address the continued Israeli aggression in Palestinian and Lebanese territories.
The Cabinet emphasised that the only viable path to resolving the crisis in Sudan is political and that it reiterated its call on the warring parties to comply with the Jeddah Declaration signed on May 11, 2023, urging them to cease hostilities, end the conflict, and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need.
The Cabinet noted the Kingdom’s significant advancement, of 15 places, in the 2023 international tourist revenue rankings compared to 2019, leading the top 50 rankings in upward movement.
The Cabinet during the meeting approved the accession of Saudi Arabia to the concrete breakthrough initiative, launched on the sidelines of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
It also approved a memorandum of understanding concerning political consultations between the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia.
The Saudi Cabinet approved an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation on income and the prevention of tax evasion between the governments of Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

It authorised the minister of economy and planning and chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Statistics, or a deputy, to discuss and sign with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Gulf region office in Saudi Arabia a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in multiple indicator cluster surveys.
It approved a framework agreement for cooperation in the fields of air navigation and the exploration and use of airspace and outer space for peaceful purposes between Saudi Arabia and the United States.
It approved a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi National Center for Meteorology and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), concerning work in the field.
While it approved in principle, the national general framework and guiding principles for foreign direct investment.
