RIYADH: The Saudi aid agency, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has continued its humanitarian work across the region to alleviate the suffering of the vulnerable communities.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday that the agency distributed food baskets to families in the northern Gaza Strip as part of a campaign to support Palestinians.

The Saudi Centre for Culture and Heritage, KSrelief’s executive partner in Gaza, immediately distributed the aid upon arrival. The humanitarian convoys entered northern Gaza to help those affected by the difficult humanitarian situation, providing essential food supplies and support.

A statement by KSrelief said that it distributed 1,830 food baskets in N’Djamena, Chad, benefiting 10,980 people in need as part of the aid agency’s 2024 project to support food security in the country.

It said this initiative is part of the Kingdom’s broader humanitarian and relief efforts through KSrelief for countries and individuals affected by crises.

The Saudi aid agency also distributed 746 food baskets and 746 hygiene kits in Dana, Idlib, Syria, benefiting 4,476 people. The aid is part of the second phase of a project to assist those affected by the earthquake in northern Syria.

The SPA reported that King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has launched the second phase of a project in the Aden Governorate of Yemen to address local capacity-building needs for educating illiterate and disabled students.

The nine-month project would provide high-quality, sustainable educational opportunities for the target groups in the governorates of Aden, Hadramout, Dhale, Lahij, Shabwah, and Al-Mahra.

The project would benefit 9,747 individuals, including 6,527 people with disabilities, 2,389 illiterate students, and 831 educational staff members in targeted centres and schools.

The clinics of KSrelief provided medical services to 2,520 patients at the Zaatari refugee camp for Syrians in Jordan during the fourth week of October 2024.
