SEOUL: South Korea said that North Korea fired a short-range ballistic missile over the sea to the east of the Korean Peninsula in the early hours of Sunday.

The latest move comes not even 24 hours following Pyongyang launched three ballistic missiles yesterday.
Yonhap news agency reported that the ballistic missile was fired around 2:50 a.m. local time from Pyongyang. The S. Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff confirmed that North Korea fired a short-range ballistic missile on Sunday.

The launch follows an unprecedented number of missile tests carried out by North Korea in 2022, as North Korea presses on with arms development amid rumor it could test a nuclear weapon for a seventh time.
