IHC Reserves Decision on Azam Swati’s Bail Application in Controversial Tweets Case

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has reserved judgment on the bail application filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Azam Swati today (Monday) in controversial tweets case.

The court resumed the hearing today with Babar Awan representing the accused. Awan told the court that Sindh and Balochistan high courts quashed the cases registered against his client. The court reserved the judgment after hearing arguments from both sides. The petition was filed by Swati’s counsel Babar Awan. He made the Federal Investigation Agency Cyber Crime Wing and the federal government respondents in the case. The PTI leader sought post-arrest bail till the trial in the case is completed.

Special court rejected Azam Swati’s bail application

Earlier, a special court in the federal capital had rejected the bail plea filed by the PTI senator. Special Judge Central Azam Khan held that the PTI stalwart committed the same office twice. The special judge said the PTI senator attempted to incite the public against army officers.
