Harry’s Taliban Kill Comments have Damaged Prince’s Reputation: Ex-commander

ISLAMABAD: A former British commander, while talking to British media, has said that Prince Harry’s comments regarding fatally targeting 25 Taliban militants while in the battlefield with UK’s armed forces in Afghanistan has damaged his reputation.

Retired Col. Richard Kemp termed Harry’s disclosure that the militants were “chess pieces” who were removed from the “board” as “misleading” and “ill-judged”.

Prince Harry has given an account of his time in Afghanistan in his memoir “Spare” and made these comments prior to the release of the book.Kemp critically rebuked Harry’s statement regarding Britain’s armed forces approach toward enemy fighters.

Kemp stated that Harry is wrong in saying “insurgents” were considered “virtually unhuman or subhuman” like “chess pieces” that need to be “knocked over”.
