Turkiye, Armenia Begin Direct Freight Trade as Normalization Moves Forward

ISLAMABAD: Diplomatic sources said on Friday said that as of January 1, Turkiye and Armenia started direct air freight trade. This development comes amid the ongoing normalization talks between specially appointed officials of both countries.

As reported by Turkiye’s Anadolu Agency, the Turkish Trade Ministry has conveyed this development to the concerned associations of Turkish exporters.

Normalization talks between Turkiye, Armenia started in Moscow

In January 2022, the first round of normalization negotiations between Yerevan and Ankara took place in Russia’s capital Moscow. Both sides agreed to continue the dialogue without any preconditions.

Two more rounds of talks took place last February and Many.

As a result of the commencement of the normalization talks, on February 2, 3022, commercial flights between the countries resumed after two years.
