ISLAMABAD: With regard to the development and future operations of Advanced Air Mobility, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Saturday disclosed its plan to collaborate with South Korea’s Office of Civil Aviation.

The FAA stated that Washington and Seoul had inked a declaration about sharing info, collaborating on projects, and promoting oversight of safety protocols while working on advanced air mobility projects, as reported by Reuters.

Advanced air mobility tech focuses on development of air-taxies

FAA’s acting administrator Billy Nolen has said that in order to safely integrate with these technologies the US needs to collaborate with its international partners. Such measures will help in the creation of sustainable, efficient, and equitable options for transportation.

This report on the collaboration comes against the backdrop of companies trying to develop technology that wins regulatory approval in order to deploy low-altitude air taxis. The name given to them is electric vertical takeoff & landing aircraft or simply eVTOL.

Previously, the FAA has made announcements of tie-ups on the issue with Canada, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Japan which concern the National Aviation Authorities Network whose aim is to harmonize integration plans and certification of air mobility projects.
