KARACHI: The three-day “Karachi Eat” family festival ended in chaos on Monday evening when miscreants smashed over the barricades and entered the premises without tickets, fought with security personnel, and ran wildly toward the stage and harassed women.

The Karachi Eat festival has been the most prominent food festival of the megacity for the last five years. This time around, the 10th edition of the festival turned into chaos as it was marred by mismanagement. Shocking and harrowing visuals from the event’s final day surfaced on social media with families and women being harassed by goons and stags.
People at the festival shared their wicked experiences on social media platforms. They shared that there were not enough security arrangements as gates were crashed, and girls and families were harassed, which triggered a stampede. Some social media users called it people turning into uncivilized ghosts.
Attendees also narrated that the tents were dismantled, women in the family section were harassed, and the management switched off all the lights to deal with it, which worsened the situation.
The family event went wrong, eventually leading to the performance’s cancellation; likewise, Kaifi Khalil stopped performing in the middle. It was also speculated that a bottle hit Kaifi Khalil from the crowd during his performance.
However, the ‘Kahani Suno’ singer clarified that he was not hurt. Instead, he called off the performance because families were being harassed there.
