ISLAMABAD: Marriyum Aurangzeb, Minister for Information and Broadcasting on Saturday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership did not have the capacity and courage to launch the “Jail Bharo” movement in the country.

Addressing a press conference, she said Imran Khan’s call for the movement was just another political stunt aimed at diverting the attention of the people from corruption during his four-year rule, which ushered in extreme inflation and economic crises, and terrorism in the country.

“Imran Khan does not need to start any ‘Jail Bharo’ movement as the prisons will be automatically filled when he starts appearing before the courts to answer about corruption, plunder, and loot during his tenure as the prime minister,” she remarked.

Marriyum said, in the first place, the leadership would need to present themselves for the arrest in such movements. He said, ironically, Imran Khan was using his party supporters as a shield to save his “stinking and dirty” politics as well as to cover up his corruption.

“How ironic that Imran Khan is urging his supporters to get ready for the ‘Jail Bharo Tehreek’ while he himself is hiding in his bulletproof Zaman Park residence,” Marriyum stated.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said the people who started weeping after spending just two days in prison did not dare to fill the jails. She said the entire nation had witnessed how bravely the leadership of PML-N and PPP remained in prisons for months during Imran Khan’s fascist rule.
