Trump Gets Access to Instagram, Facebook After 2-Year Suspension

WASHINGTON: Meta said on Thursday that it has restored former US President Donald Trump’s social media accounts and now Trump could make access to Instagram and Facebook.

Meta spokesperson Andy Stone also confirmed after a two-year suspension following the deadly Capitol Hill attack on January 6, 2021.

Earlier, Meta said it would lift former president Trump’s suspension in upcoming days and would institute intense penalties of a suspension between two years and one month if Trump violated its policies again.

The former president of the US now regains his access to key social media platforms for voter outreach and fundraising ahead of another run for the US President office in 2024. Trump had 34 million followers on Facebook and 23 million on Instagram.
