Pakistani Schools Start Raising Funds for Earthquake Victims in Turkiye And Syria

ISLAMABAD: All educational institutions in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad have launched a mega campaign to collect funds for the earthquake victims of Syria and Türkiye.

The death toll from the devastating quake has risen to over 27,000. The campaign was launched after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appealed to help victims and survivors and show solidarity with the people of Türkiye and Syria following the disastrous situation in the quake-hit countries.

Students expressed their determination and commitment to help the government of Pakistan in assisting earthquake-affected people in Türkiye and Syria who lost their families, homes, and livelihoods.

ICT administration and Schools set up donation boxes

The Islamabad Capital Territory administration and students set up donation boxes to collect donations. Teachers and students held awareness and motivational sessions to encourage them to participate in this activity.

School administrations have asked the students to contribute to the funds with as little as Rs10.

Earlier, the Federal Directorate of Education asked educational institutions to raise funds to help earthquake victims.

The amount will go to the ‘PM’s Relief Fund for Earthquake Victims.

The fundraising activity started in the Islamabad College for Girls, F-6/2, the Islamabad College for Boys G-6/3, the Islamabad Model College for Girls F-7/4, the Islamabad Model College for Girls F 10/2 and the Islamabad Model College for Boys F – 8/4.
