Biker Displays Culture of Pakistan in Arab World

ISLAMABAD: A Pakistani citizen painted his motorbike with traditional truck art and arrived in Makkah to perform Umrah and also promote a “soft image” and culture of the country in the Arab world.

Aziz ul Hassan Hashmi said that he is resident of Muree and started his journey on Nov. 27 and reached the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Jan. 26 following passing through many countries including Iran, Iraq, and Jordan. Pakistan’s embassy in Jordan also welcomed him and presented him a certificate to appreciate his efforts to promote a soft image of the country.

Pakistan’s culture in Arab world

Aziz ul Hassan Hashmi told Arab News, “I embarked on this special journey to promote peace and a soft image of my country with a message that Pakistan is a peace-loving nation that is full of colorful culture and art,”.

He said that truck art designed is a unique and recognized across the world. He said, “Through my motorbike, I wish to show different colors of Pakistan’s culture to the world, as the art used on my motorbike portrays the culture of all four provinces, including Azad Kashmir,”.

He added. “I select Makkah as my first destination since it is considered the center of peace in the entire world.”

Hashmi maintained that he was also planning to visit the third holiest place for Muslims, the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem in next week to offer Friday prayer if he was permitted by relevant authorities.

Owing to Hashmi’s exclusive method of representing Pakistan worldwide, the country’s consul general in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia Khalid Majid, presented him a certificate of appreciation for undertaking a journey from Pakistan to KSA.
