Funeral Prayers of Martyrs Offered in Karachi

KARACHI: Sindh CM Syed Murad Ali Shah attended the funeral prayers of two policemen who laid their lives while fighting the terrorists at the Karachi Police Office on Friday evening.

The funeral prayers were held at the Central Police Office (CPO) on Saturday. The funerals were also attended by Corps Commander Karachi Lt Gen Babar Iftikhar, Minister Labur Saeed Ghani, Chief Secretary Sohail Rajput, Home Secretary Saeed Mangnijeo, IG Police Ghulam Nabi Memon, Additional IG Karachi Javed Odho and other top officials, relatives of martyrs, and members of civil society.

The funeral prayers were organized with official protocol and the coffins of the martyrs’ officials were dressed with the national flag.  

The Chief Minister, Corps Commander, IG Police, and Chief Secretary carried the coffins in the funeral procession. The Chief Minister also met with the relatives of the martyrs and assured them that they would be looked after properly.

The Chief Minister sent the flag-draped coffins of martyrs, Mohammad Saeed, Ghulam Abbas, and Ajmal Massih, to their hometowns for their burial.

On the occasion, CM Sindh said that the police personnel, rangers, and the Pak Army fought bravely with the terrorists who attacked the police officers and killed them. He added that the sacrifice of the martyrs would be remembered in the country’s history.

He said that the sweeper of Karachi Police Office, Ajmal Masih, also laid his life and proved that every Pakistani and official needed to fight in his capacity against the enemies of the country. 

Earlier, the Chief Minister also offered funeral prayers for Rangers officer Taimur who also embraced martyrdom while fighting against the terrorists on Friday.  His funeral prayer was offered at Rangers Headquarters today.

Syed Murad Ali Shah also visited Jinnah Postgraduate Medical College on Friday night and interacted with the injured officials of Karachi attack and lauded their bravery. The Chief Minister termed them heroes of the nation.
