ISLAMABAD: The Israeli military on Wednesday carried out a raid in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus in which 11 Palestinians were killed and dozens shot, the Palestinian health ministry said in a statement.

Through “the occupation’s aggression on Nablus,” 11 people aged 23 to 72 were killed, the ministry added.

As many as 50 people were hospitalized with gunshot injuries, health officials stated.

The Israeli military confirmed its security forces were operating in Nablus, however, when contacted by AFP newsperson, a spokesperson was not able to provide more details.

An AFP journalist witnessed Israeli forces fire tear gas at Palestinians, who burned tires and threw stones at military vehicles.

Israeli raid: Medics treat gunshot injuries, tear gas inhalation

After 3 hours the troops withdrew from the city, the journalist said.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said that its medics had treated as many as 45 gunshot injuries and 250 cases of tear gas inhalation.

The previous major Israeli raid on Nablus killed 5 Palestinians, as troops targeted the local militia named Lions’ Den.

In a Telegram post on Wednesday, the group said its fighters were involved in a “battle of honor” against Israeli forces.
