SAHIWAL: Senior Vice-President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Maryam Nawaz on Monday demanded redressal of “injustice” against the former prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, before the next general elections.
Addressing a convention of party workers in Sahiwal, Maryam Nawaz, who also holds the position of PML-N’s chief organizer, said: “Elections will be held after the conviction of Nawaz Sharif is overturned.”
Speaking to party workers, Maryam Nawaz said: “Justice first, then general elections will be held.” She said that polls would be conducted in the country when the vote is respected.
Maryam said that her party was unafraid of elections, adding that PML-N is preparing for the upcoming polls.
“The general elections will be held after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan will be judged on the same standards of justice set for PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif,” Maryam added.
The PML-N leader asserted that the general elections would be held when the “watch thief” (referring to Imran Khan) is brought to justice. Maryam Nawaz accused former first lady Bushra Bibi of receiving a five-carat diamond for approving each file during the previous PTI-led government.

Maryam Nawaz claimed that traces that former ISI chief Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed’s (retd) remains were still saving Imran Khan. Even today, Hamid is hatching conspiracies in Chakwal, she added.
Dubbing Mian Saqib Nisar – former chief justice of Pakistan – as “Dam Wala Baba,” the PML-N leader said he was still assigning the task to his “group” in the judiciary.
Berating Imran Khan, Maryam Nawaz said that the PTI Chairman, despite being an “absconder,” used to attend the proceedings of the Panama papers case on a daily basis in the court of former Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa.
Taking a jibe at Imran Khan, Maryam Nawaz said that the PTI chief shows his plaster cast whenever the court summons him.
Commenting on Imran Khan’s court cases, Maryam Nawaz asked him to stop acting like a cowardly leader and face the music. “A leader does not hide in his Zaman Park house with a plaster cast on his leg,” she added.
