KHARTOUM: For days, a violent fight between the troops of two rival generals has erupted in many parts of Sudan, killing hundreds of people and injuring thousands in the country. Battles since April 15 have turned Sudan’s capital Khartoum into a conflict zone, shuttering hospitals and preventing doctors and health professionals from providing care. A Washington-brokered 72-hour truce was agreed on 25 April between the army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, who commands the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. Rescue operations have also intensified since, with foreign nations evacuating their people from Sudan by air, land, and sea. A video by AFP
