Pakistan Air Force Made Aspiring Thalassemia Kid ‘Pilot For A Day’

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu while displaying extreme sympathy for Master Abdullah Naveed, a bright kid suffering from thalassemia, made possible his lifetime dream come true by making him a Pakistan Air Force (PAF) pilot for a day at an operational base of PAF on Friday.

“It was a dream of Abdullah to become a Pakistan Air Force fighter pilot, which is indicative of the traditional affiliation of the whole Pakistani young generation with Pakistan Air Force. This action which was backed by Make a Wish Foundation, Pakistan, Abdullah visited an Operational Base of Pakistan Air Force, where the kids was given an honorary rank by Air Officer Commanding Air Vice Marshal Khalid Mehmood and Base Commander in a customary way used in PAF,” a PAF statement said.

The kid was also given a simulated experience of a fighter airplane and visited several units of the base.

The parents of the child and the founding President of Make-A-Wish Foundation also accompanied him.

He was jubilant and also showed extreme joy upon undergoing this unique and unprecedented experience.

“Pakistan Air Force has always held a special place in the hearts of the nation. The whole nation and PAF in particular wish Abdullah a speedy recovery and the actual realization of his dream,” it further said.
