JEDDAH: The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), headquartered in Jeddah, has published the 52nd issue of the OIC Journal, featuring a comprehensive overview of the organization’s recent activities and important global issues it addresses.
The new issue, available in Arabic, English, and French, covers a range of topics including politics, economics, culture, humanitarian affairs, and science.
One prominent event highlighted in the journal is the 49th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) held in Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania, in March. The CFM session addressed significant matters of concern to the OIC and its member countries. Additionally, the journal focuses on the Palestinian cause, discussing the Israeli attacks on the Al-Aqsa Mosque and innocent civilians in Palestinian territories earlier this year. The OIC held four extraordinary meetings during the first third of the year to address these critical issues.
OIC Efforts to Resolve Sudan Crisis
The 52nd issue of the OIC Journal also covers the OIC’s efforts in response to the military crisis in Sudan. The organization held an extraordinary meeting in May at its headquarters to discuss ways to mitigate the conflict in the country. Furthermore, the journal includes a special report on the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria in February, along with various humanitarian, cultural, and community-related topics. It also commemorates the first anniversary of designating March 15 as the International Day to Combat Islamophobia.
