Pakistan’s Finance Minister, US Ambassador Discuss Measures to Boost Economic Cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Ishaq Dar, and US Ambassador to Pakistan, Donald Blome, met on Wednesday to discuss areas of mutual interest and ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two nations.

According to a statement issued by the finance ministry, Ishaq Dar expressed his appreciation for the longstanding and strong bilateral ties between Pakistan and the US, particularly in the areas of trade and the economy. He informed the Ambassador about the successful staff-level agreement reached with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and shared the government’s economic policies and priorities aimed at stabilizing the country’s economy.

Furthermore, Ishaq Dar expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation extended by the United States. He reiterated the government’s commitment to deepening trade and economic relations with the US.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Donald Blome expressed confidence in the policies and programs implemented by the current government, which are aimed at achieving economic sustainability in the country. He also pledged his support in further promoting economic, trade, and investment relations between Pakistan and the United States.

Overall, the meeting highlighted the shared commitment of both nations to strengthen economic cooperation and foster closer ties for mutual benefit.
