WASHINGTON: Masood Khan, the Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, has applauded the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (APPNA) for its work in improving Pakistan’s health, economic, and education sectors while giving a strong call for solidarity among the Pakistani diaspora as their motherland faces difficulties.

According to a news release from the Pakistani embassy, he was speaking to the AAPNA annual conference as it concluded on Sunday night in Dallas, Texas. This was the 46th meeting of the series, which began in 1976. Numerous events, including a display of Pakistani goods and culture, were organized during the week-long convention, which attracted thousands of Pakistani doctors.

“We share a single identity, flag, and anthem. We are one country,” the Pakistani envoy stated. He added that there shouldn’t be any rifts or divisions within the Pakistani community and that any issues should be resolved rather than growing larger.

“Put your trust in Pakistan. He assured the gathering that “we will rise through all storms and become a successful nation in the comity of nations.” He urged them to reject pessimism, set aside misgivings, and show their oneness. Earlier, Dr. Arshad Rehan agreed with the Ambassador’s remarks and asserted that there was no divide inside the APPNA. He claimed that the outpouring of support for the organization and the record number of attendees at all events was evidence of this.

Separately, the news release states that Masood Khan reassured the Pakistani-American physicians who met with the Ambassador one-on-one and in groups that they should continue to visit Pakistan without any fear or worry and that no lists were being maintained to target them. He declared that overseas Pakistanis were one of the nation’s most important resources and were welcome to travel back home without any fear. —APP
