LAHORE: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed confidence on Sunday that if given another opportunity to lead the country, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would transform Pakistan into a progressive state.
Speaking at a ceremony of youth under the Prime Minister Youth Business and Agriculture Loan scheme, PM Shehbaz emphasized the accomplishments achieved under Nawaz’s leadership and highlighted the defeat of conspiracies against the state.
During the event, Shehbaz distributed cheques to young entrepreneurs as part of the Prime Minister Youth Business and Agriculture Loan scheme. The scheme aims to provide low-interest loans on favorable terms to talented youth, empowering them to start their own businesses. It also includes a special quota for women to promote women entrepreneurship and empowerment.
Laptop Scheme in Pakistan
Additionally, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to visit Sialkot, where he will distribute laptops to eligible students as part of the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme.
Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman, addressing the gathering, praised the laptop scheme for providing millions of laptops to students based on merit, highlighting its international recognition. He expressed regret over the neglect of the education and health sectors during the previous government’s tenure.
The ceremony also showcased success stories of beneficiaries of the loan scheme, illustrating the positive impact of the program on the lives of young entrepreneurs. Shiza Fatima Khawaja, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs, highlighted that the scheme has already provided loans on favorable conditions to one million young people across the country.
