ISLAMABAD: Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, who arrived in Islamabad on Thursday on a two-day official visit, rejected media reports claiming that Pakistan was supplying arms to Kyiv amid its ongoing conflict with Russia.
Addressing a joint news conference along with Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari in the federal capital, Kuleba said there was no arms supply agreement between Pakistan and Ukraine adding that he was thankful to Pakistan for supporting Ukraine’s stance on its sovereignty and security.
The Ukrainian FM also expressed interest in boosting trade and economic ties saying that the country is looking forward to holding the inaugural meeting of a Pakistan-Ukraine commission on economic cooperation.
The Ukrainian FM also appreciated Pakistan’s humanitarian assistance to the people of the conflict-hit country. He assured of solving issues being faced by Pakistani students studying in Ukraine.
Speaking on the occasion, FM Bilawal emphasized the importance of peaceful resolution of disputes and conflicts through dialogue and engagements, adding that Pakistan is ready to support peace initiatives for lasting stability in the region.
Bilawal said as the Ukraine war has also brought difficulties for developing countries in the global arena, particularly in terms of food, fuel, and fertilizer shortages with Pakistan is no exception.
Later taking to his Twitter handle Bilawal shared some details along with glimpses of the Ukrainian FM visit adding that during the visit both the dignitaries exchanged and discussed bilateral and global issues.
