ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani has extended his firm solidarity with the Kashmiri people on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal, a day dedicated to commemorating the Kashmiri people’s struggle for justice and freedom. This day marks the solemn remembrance of the illegal actions taken by the Indian government on August 5, 2019, revoking the special status of India’s Illegally Occupied Kashmir.

In his statement issued on Saturday, the Chairman Senate said that India disregarded international law and the United Nations resolutions on August 5, 2019, by abrogating Articles 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution.

Sanjrani reaffirmed the resolute dedication of the Pakistani nation to stand in solidarity with Kashmiris living on both sides of the Line of Control, as well as those residing around the world.

Moreover, the Chairman strongly denounced the unprecedented military clampdown enforced in the region in 2019, resulting in immense hardships for the Kashmiri people. This message serves as a potent reminder of the sacrifices made by the Kashmiri population and their unrelenting pursuit of self-determination.

The Senate Chairman urged the global community to uphold the principles of justice and abide by international law. He stressed the significance of a peaceful resolution in alignment with the genuine aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Youm-e-Istehsal a Day of Solidarity

Youm-e-Istehsal stands as a collective plea for action, urging the international community to acknowledge the fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people and address their legitimate grievances, he highlighted.

He underscored Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to justice, human rights, and lasting peace within the region.
