LONDON: The celebration of India’s Independence Day took a distressing turn in Southall as an altercation erupted, resulting in the injury of four Sikhs and prompting a retaliatory action that left two Indian nationals seriously wounded. The incident unfolded in a crowded area of Broadwall Broadway, where police officers were policing the event.

One Indian national was apprehended on suspicion of affray, but the situation escalated further as officers discovered two men in their 30s with knife injuries.
