ISLAMABAD: Seasoned diplomat Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi has officially assumed the role of the 32nd Foreign Secretary of Pakistan on Thursday.
The foreign secretary position remained vacant after the incumbent foreign secretary Asad Majeed Khan retired from government service after reaching the age of superannuation.
New Foreign Secretary Brings Extensive Experience
Newly appointed foreign secretary Qazi comes with extensive experience in both bilateral and multilateral diplomacy, having held positions in India, the United States, and the United Nations in Geneva.
He previously served as Pakistan’s Ambassador to Hungary from 2015 to 2017 and to Turkey from 2017 to 2022.
