ISLAMABAD: A high-level delegation from Uzbekistan led by Deputy Prime Minister Khodjaev Jamshid Abdukhakimovich called on Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday in Islamabad.
Recalling his recent meetings with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the sidelines of the SCO summit held in Samarkand in September and the 6th CICA Summit held in Astana, Kazakhstan, in October, PM Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to enhance further the existing excellent relationship between the two brotherly countries.
PM Offers Connectivity
The PM said Pakistan offers connectivity to Central Asia through roads and railways. He hoped that the connectivity projects in the region would bring traders together and usher in a new era of peace and prosperity for the two countries and the region at large.
It was agreed during the meeting to enhance economic and trade ties between the two countries. The visiting dignitary also briefed the PM about the discussions between Pakistan and Uzbekistan business groups in various fields. Prime Minister appreciated that fruitful dialogue between the business community to establish B2B contacts would enhance bilateral trade and investment.
