A Major Attempt of Sabotage Foiled in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Peshawar police on Monday averted a major attempt of sabotage and recovered a suicide waist jacket thrown by the would-be terrorists in the vicinity of Phandu police station in the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to Police, a suspected motorcyclist was signaled to stop but the person instead took his luggage before fleeing the scene. Upon inspection of stuff, police personnel found a suicidal waist jacket and promptly called the Bomb Disposal Squad to immediately defuse it.

On receiving information SHO Phandu police station along with his team and personnel of BDS reached the spot where the officials successfully defused the suicide jacket.  The initial report of the BDS stated that around six to seven kg of explosive material was infused in the jacket. Pakistan state-run news agency APP cited SHO Phandu as saying that it was a much more wise and productive action of the police on duty who averted a major attempt of sabotage in the city.
