LAHORE: AACSB International Board of Directors has extended the accreditation for the degree programmes offered by the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
According to a press release on Tuesday, the SDSB in 2019 became the first business school in Pakistan to receive the AACSB International accreditation. The recent extension highlights the quality of education provided by SDSB, placing it among the top six percent of business schools globally.
The AACSB renowned for its commitment to the highest standards of excellence since 1916, offers business education intelligence, quality assurance and learning and development services to over 1,900 member organisations and more than 1,000 accredited business schools across the world. AACSB promotes innovation, engagement and enhances impact in business education.
Achieving AACSB accreditation is a rigorous and mission-driven process that includes an in-depth assessment of internal activities, mentorship with an AACSB advisor, and a peer-reviewed evaluation on continuous improvement. During this multiyear path, schools focus on developing and implementing a plan to achieve their mission and align with the accreditation standards of AACSB. These principles-based standards need excellence in areas pertaining to strategic management and innovation, teaching, learning and research.
Dr. Ali Cheema, Vice Chancellor, LUMS on this achievement, said the AACSB reaccreditation highlights the exceptional quality and impact of its business programmes at SDSB. He said it is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the university’s faculty, staff, and students, who consistently uphold the highest standards. He noted that this achievement not only reaffirms LUMS’s status among the top business schools internationally but also reflects the dedication of the university to nurturing future leaders who will drive positive change worldwide.
