MACAU, China: Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan made his first public appearance with his girlfriend, Gauri Spratt, at the Macau International Comedy Festival on Saturday, drawing widespread media attention.
The couple walked hand-in-hand on the red carpet, marking their official debut together on an international platform.
The appearance comes just weeks after Khan publicly confirmed his relationship with Spratt during his 60th birthday celebrations in Mumbai.
Speaking to reporters on 14 March, Khan had said, “I thought it would be a nice occasion for you all to meet her, besides we won’t have to keep hiding.”
“She is from Bangalore, and we knew each other for 25 years. But we connected a year and a half ago. She happened to be in Mumbai, and we met accidentally. We kept in touch, and then it all happened organically,” Khan told the attendees.
He also revealed that the two have been living together for the past year.
Gauri Spratt, a Bengaluru-based media professional and mother of a six-year-old son, is currently associated with Khan’s production company.
At the festival, the couple opted for traditional Indian attire. Khan wore a black kurta-pyjama set complemented by an embroidered shawl, while Spratt donned a floral white saree.
The two posed for photographers, interacted with attendees, and appeared at ease throughout the evening.
A widely circulated video on social media captured Khan gently holding Spratt’s hand as they entered the venue.
The couple posed for the cameras and shared light-hearted moments, including forming heart shapes with their hands alongside popular Chinese actors Shen Teng and Ma Li.
According to Chinese media outlet GDToday, Khan, Shen, and Ma also participated in a closing panel discussion titled “Laughter is the Best Medicine.”
The session focused on the role of comedy in storytelling and its ability to foster cross-cultural understanding.
During the event, Khan personally introduced Spratt to Shen Teng, Ma Li, and other guests. Observers noted the couple’s visible chemistry and Spratt’s ease in the spotlight.
The 8th edition of the Macau International Comedy Festival brought together actors, filmmakers, and comedians from across Asia.
